I really don't know, I buy large lots of phones to resell and got this and a few more in a lot. There is no Metro PCS service where I live but I have went through the phone and made sure everything works and verified that it is 100% clear to be activated with Metro PCS

It does not use a sim card, it works on the cdma network only.
