Description

The listing, Taxidermy Toad has ended.

My Name is Andrew, Self-proclaimed picker and procurer of the old and peculiar items. I travel all of California looking for those hidden, rare, vintage, classic, hard to find, treasures. For years I have attended estate sales, garage sales, Thrift stores, Old barns, grandma’s glass cases and more. Genres include: trading cards sport and other, jewelry, Avon, Barbie, Star wars, clothing, Hot Wheels, princess house and more…. I will give my very best description of each item. Most items are old/vintage and will be un-modified, un- changed, or un-restored in any way from the original way I found it. For this reason…

Details: This handsome gentleman has been immortalized for the pleasure of this auction. He is missing a finger but I think that just gives him character. I do not know the species so if anyone can identify I will provide an extra gift for the winner of the auction. The toad has a zipper on the bottom, maybe a hidden trinket box.

Reminder: I am a collector, not a professional in all categories and or genres of my items. I will do my best to research what I can, but please take a moment to do your own research as well. If I am mistaken about a specific item, please, please, please bring it to my attention.

Satisfaction: My ultimate goal for my fans is their complete satisfaction. I will always do my best to settle disputes fairly and honestly. I sell thousands of items so discrepancies will happen from time to time.

I would not take the paper out that is his stuffing and he will eventually crack he is not made to be used as a purse or trinket that is how they stuffed him and instead of sewing him they put a zipper for access so whoever gets him better leave the paper inside alone unless they want him to crack cause like he said he is dried and will crack they are fragile he is meant to kick back and keep you company not hide your goodies lol

As for names - HypnoToad (Futrorama) since he's got us all fascinated, and he has the same look- Casey (why not), Justin, and my toad was called Rah-poosh-ka (which means toad in ukrainian) Or Fin, since he's living for Infinity in this preserved body :) Hopefully the person who gets him will treat him with respect and love :) <3

Drewsie! This is the best listing I have ever had the pleasure to take part in! I care for 3 bonsai pieces and always look for interesting ways to dress the topsoil. This will be amazing. If I was not a single bloke already, I certainly would be when any prospective mate found a toad in my bonsai
You are aware last minute rush of bidders this will command, yes? It will be epic!

it's a Cane Frog,
The cane toad (Rhinella marina), also known as the giant neotropical toad or marine toad, is a large, terrestrial true toad which is native to South and mainland Middle America, but has been introduced to various islands throughout Oceania and the Caribbean, as well as northern Australia. It is a member of the genus Rhinella, but was formerly in the genus Bufo, which includes many different true toad species found throughout Central and South America. The cane toad is a prolific breeder; females lay single-clump spawns with thousands of eggs. Its reproductive success is partly because of opportunistic feeding: it has a diet, unusual among anurans, of both dead and living matter. Adults average 10–15 cm (3.9–5.9 in) in length; the largest recorded specimen weighed 2.65 kg (5.8 lb) with a length of 38 cm (15 in) from snout to vent.
The cane toad has poison glands, and the tadpoles are highly toxic to most animals if ingested. Because of its voracious appetite, the cane toad has been introduced to many regions of the Pacific and the Caribbean islands as a method of agricultural pest control. The species derives its common name from its use against the cane beetle (Dermolepida albohirtum). The cane toad is now considered a pest and an invasive species in many of its introduced regions; of particular concern is its toxic skin, which kills many animals—native predators and otherwise—when ingested.
