It is a very rare cactus and it is extremely hard to find. I had to obtain the seeds from a friend in the region that it grows in near Tucson AZ in the Santa Rita Mountains. It is one of the most beautiful specimens of cactus I have came across.

Prickly Pear can tolerate snow here in Arizona . so I think it would take in Oklahoma. This auction is not for seed. It is for a pad of the the cactus. All you have to do is plant it and water it and you have an instant plant. So technically it would be ready for Christmas.

Thank you for the information . I know that these Cactus are native to this area and was not imported. You can grow them from seed but you are forbidden to remove this plant here in the state from it's natural location in the Santa Rita Mountains . That is what makes it so RARE. Just a note This is the only time this cactus will be offered on Listia by me.

Say it ain't so! I know all of us watching can't win only one!! Love it! I wonder if you can eat the leaves/pads or just the fruit. I think nopalitas (sp?) are made from the green ones...F & W!
