Questions & Comments
this was printed in 1953! lol your slightly off on your roman numerals Dave! Have a super weekend!
Copy right date is 1927....This is a reprint...If you check the following page it gives you all the dates of the different reprints! So, for this one, it sold for 49 cents!!...So...My guess would be 1970s?? Maybe late 1960s?? Any one else want to jump in for comments? Still a nice book and I bid on it to!!
Sorry Mike but I know my paper products pretty good and if this one is from the 60's or 70's there is no notation anywhere in the book and this book came from a stack of other books that were from the early to mid ( latest book was from 1955 in the stack of books it came from). I have been wrong before on exact year or decade but rarely am I off several decades. Been sniffin' the printed page for 40+ years now. I always appreciate input so please know that and thank you.
the first printing is a Cupples & Leon with speckled boards and a paper dust jacket, it was about(" X 10" this is a later big little book type printing, you can check them out on ABEbooks, Alibris Books, or ebay Vintage 1953 Book Bomba The Jungle Boy by Roy Rockwood
was published by McLoughlin Bros. From the Bomba series , this is another Tarzan-like chapter book, 209 pages. A 1950's reprint edition. The glossy binding is illustrated and measures about 8" tall.
I've been getting buzzed on musty comic book newsprint since he early 60's too! I've collected books my whole life too! I like these series books, all kinds, I'm always looking for all kinds of odd stuff! Especially any with dust jackets like the old Hardy Boys or Tom Swift series. Any horror & sci-fi from the 30's-70's, not so much comics anymore, getting too hard to read them with my old eyes! take care!
