Bought this for an American Literature class that stated it was required along with the matching textbook, but really only needed it for one story -- which I could have found online. There are smudges on the disk, but nothing that would stop it from playing. It did have trouble with my Windows 8.1 operating system with automatically loading and a lot of University of Phoenix students complained that their laptops wouldn't just auto-play it either. But, you can browse easily on the disk to the literature you want. Book buyers are not looking to buy this back.
