This is a neat item, with a funny (but sad) story behind it. I also have a 50th Anniversary plaque, which I'll be listing next. I was rooting around some boxes in the attic...marked "Christmas stuff", and discovered this. What a surprise! We bought this for some dear friends of ours, back in the mid-70s, who was preparing for their 50th anniversary. Turns out, they got into a huge fight a week before the anniversary. Evidently, there was a LOT of pentup feelings and emotions, because when the kettle blew...it REALLY blew. We're talking an all out, knock-down, drag-out fist fight. Hair pulling, biting, scratching, kneeing, kicking, punching, headlock, and rolling around the floor knocking things over. My wife and I (this was WAY before she became on Old Bat) looked at each other with mouths hanging open. We didn't want to interfere, but, at the same time, we didn't want to deal with any dead bodies, either. We FINALLY got them apart, blood smeared everywhere, his false teeth broken on the floor, her hearing aid hanging off of her ear. Well, she came home with us, and the next day filed for divorce. They ALMOST made it to 50 years. Yes, it's very sad! However, at the same time....picture in your mind....a seemingly sweet old, gray-haired couple in their 70's, trying to beat each other to death, giving it everything they had. THAT in itself, was, in reality, absolutely HILARIOUS! Wow...I hadn't thought about that in a million years.

Anyway, that's why we happen to have this. It's been stored away all these years. It's still in perfect condition, and in the original plastic sleeve. It didn't come in a box. 8 1/2" X 10 3/4".
It just so happens that the Old Bat and I are having OUR 50th on the 23rd of this month. (Thank you very much) I know our daughter has already bought all this 50th stuff for the party. Sooooo...here this is!
