am listing some more. Digging them out. Got these YEARS ago. Been in storage. Lightweight, I think the three main large beads are of wood and are painted. The other beads, im not sure of, think they are painted bones as I can't get them to melt when I try to test them. Fishing line string and small closures. I took a set of these, restrung on more pliable fishing line and added a sterling closure and people are constantly admiring it.

your very observant, but I have several sets of these necklaces. I think they came out of a store in Cherokee years ago. They are not expensive jewelry, but old and very interesting. I think made with painted bone as I couldn't get beads to burn, and the larger beads are lightweight wood, strung on what appears to be fishing line, clasps are NOT silver. I took a set, restrung it and put silver clasp on or myself, and is beautiful. Can be worn as is. I would have thought they were for children, but no, the size dictates adult.

If you hold the beads up to your face and they are cold, they are glass or gem/rock. Most often you'll find the "pony" or "Crow" beads to be made of glass. Bone beads would probably smell something awful if you tried to burn them, lol...

I'll try not to post again, but I looked closer at the pic (w/ glasses ON) and they may be handmade from clay and possibly fired...just a thought.

Those beads would be hot with a western outfit or just plain blue denim. I've been seeing a heck of a lot of Native American outfits on ladies lately in the SE TN area. Popularity is coming back I guess. Glad I have a closet full but accessories like this necklace is hard to find.
