Description

The listing, 20 Unknown Tomato Seeds Probably a Small, Red Type has ended.

These are some seeds that I saved, but their name tag got lost somewhere.

I have a lot of them, so I'm sharing some for whomever like surprises in the garden.

The photo, is how I store them, winner will NOT receive that many, nor receive the round container.

THE WINNER WILL GET 20 SEEDS IN A PACKET.

This will come with a bonus of Unknown Variety Short Orange Carrot Seeds, which are a companion plant to tomatoes.

I grew the carrots in 2014, and overwintered them.

I then replanted them, in the spring of 2015.

I let them flower, and set seed.

Then I harvested the seed, in the fall of 2015.

This is some of the seed you'll get, for planting in 2016.

They'll have some chaff (other plant matter, that's not a seed) with the seeds. This is a bit annoying, but won't interfere with planting too much.

Carrots are a biennial. Some must be left to grow a second year, in order to set seed.

If you want to save your own carrot seed, plant carrot seed in 2016.

Then, if you get some mature carrot roots (big enough to eat), just leave 2-4 carrot roots uneaten, after harvesting all the carrot plants.

Then store those 2-4 roots in the fridge, over the winter, with their tops still on, at least 4" of leaf stalks anyway.

Then replant these stored roots in the spring (2017), and leave until they flower, seed, and die on their own, in the fall of 2017.

The last photo shows some of the same carrot seed that I'm offering, that I planted this spring. Little sprouts came up, so it is viable seed.

Tomato seeds are in the round container.

Carrot seeds, COME WITH the tomato seeds, so I was showing, that I grew and harvested the carrot seeds myself, and if the winner does what I did, the photos show what to expect, to get their own carrot seed.

I usually show the life cycle of a tomato, but since I don't know what variety of tomato these are, I just showed only the tomato seeds.
