Up for auction are four 1913 Type 1 Buffalo Nickels from a roll. You will receive the coins pictured. These coins grade about AG03. The dates have worn off due to circulation. The coins will come in reclosable bags. Also included will be four new, unused nickel size cardboard coin flips. Shipping will be in a standard #10 envelope. I will ship on the next business day. Other information:
The Buffalo Nickel was produced in two distinct types during the first year of its issue (1913). The original or Type 1 design features the buffalo standing on a raised mound. The revised or Type 2 design features the buffalo standing on a line of plane. The main purpose of the redesign was to place the inscription “FIVE CENTS” within a recessed area so it would not wear away quickly in circulation.
