I have a milk gallon jug full of aluminum can pop tabs that were collected for my daughter's school to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities but she transferred schools and her new school is not involved in this fundraiser. I will send them to you free of charge. They are only worth a few dollars if you choose to sell them to an aluminum recycling center but they would combine with other pop tabs to help this wonderful charity.

Two years ago, my daughter was born unexpectedly and prematurely and we were able to stay at a Ronald McDonald House near the hospital while she was there for several weeks in the NICU unit. Here is some more information on this charity:

Ronald McDonald house collects pop tabs for recycle. Why not recycle the whole can instead of just the tab? They say that the tab has more aluminum in it than the rest of the can. This is not true according to snopes, and common sense.

They do recycle the tabs. They get $0.42/lb of tabs and raised almost $4000 in 2005 by recycling about 7 million tabs. The money raised goes to pay bills for families that use Ronald McDonald house that are not covered by other donations or funding. Ronald McDonald house has a noble mission: Provide a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

If your child's school collects these or you know how to get them to the Ronald McDonald House that would be great. I don't live nearby the hospital where we stayed.

I have about a gallon jug full and when I went online it said it would weigh about 3 lbs. This is an estimate. If you want me to be more specific than that I can try to weigh them someway. I could not tell you how many pop tabs, there are thousands.

if I had time we could have a contest and let people guess how many are in there-i'm horrible at those-but i'm afraid i wouldn't get them counted!

if you have more I am willing to give you all my credits it's for a good cause so I have no problem with it. I have raised over 5000 for Shriners hospital so far and am trying to get as many as possible. :)

I don't think I will have more than the gallon jug but I would be happy to send you all I have-it is a good cause-I just don't know what to do with all of them and have had them sitting around way too long!
