The listing, Beautiful Hybrids: Pink/yellow & Pink Seeds has ended.
The rose seeds were harvested from our large pink rose bush, and our pink/yellow hybrid bush. The pink yellow hybrid roses were made via cross pollination; by nature, between the large pink rose bush and a yellow rose bush.
These rose bushes are well established (At least 5 years), with large roots. The bushes stand over six feet tall, and produce many flowers, and great fruit. I am in a drought location, in the desert. The bushes are on the sun side of my home. This puts the plants in full sun 7+ hours a day in the spring and summer (In high heat), and 6 or so hours in the fall and winter months. The bushes go dormant, in my region in late December and January. In beginning to mid January we harvest and prune. This last autumn we took both bushes down to around a foot in height to give the bush a little life.
We had bought the house over 3 years ago and the rose bushes came with the house. At the time they were an impressive 6 feet, and for the first two years we didn't play aggressive with pruning. However in 2015 we did, as a result the plant really took off. By late February, early march after the aggressive pruning, the bushes were back up to five feet tall!
We water every day and do not have a need to bother trying to control mother natures pests. We do not spray anything, because most of the plants we keep we also eat.
The pictures above show you the two colors included, the seeds you will get, and pictures of these seeds growing roses in my front yard.
I am experimenting with potatoes and germination, because it seems they may help grow them better. I tested a seed in just soil and it also took.
Tips: Plant more than one at a time ( try 6 of them together). This increases chances that they will grow, and is also logical providing how many seeds are inside of a rose hip. If you want to try out the potato method check out the picture above to see how.
