Description

The listing, **KEY DATE** 1932-D SILVER WASHINGTON QUARTER has ended.

This auction is for a Circulated, Key Date, 1932-D Silver Washington Quarter.
I have gone back and forth with myself and a couple others over this coin. I see what looks like a "D" over "S" for the mint mark, but there is no way that it was at both mints, nor does such a coin exist. If the "D" was not "filled" then all would be good. I have been told by 2 experts that with the condition of this coin, there is no difference in the worth of it with either an "S" or a "D" so that would not be a reason to try to alter the mint mark. I agree with that, but still am seeing what I am seeing.
I almost did not say a word about it, because with my statement, it almost makes you see the "D" over "S" through the power of suggestion.

The scans above are of the actual item that you will receive, and are provided for you to determine the condition and/or grade of it.
I never clean or alter coins in any way, and do my best to allow you to see every detail and/or every blemish that the coins I list have, so that you can make an informed and confident bid.
I am no longer accepting GIN offers for my auctions, everyone now gets a shot at bidding.
The winner will receive this via FREE SHIPPING W/Tracking.
Remember that all Listia rules apply.

Now that the holidays are over with, the Post Office has been doing a better job of getting packages to their destination in a timely manner, but not all of them. Some are still taking up to a week (or more) for no special or evident reason.
Just let it be known that all items will be sent the next available day after end of auction, for I actually go to the Post Office and pay the Postage and Tracking in person so that you will receive your item as soon as possible. I also check all Tracking numbers daily and will keep you informed of anything that is out of the ordinary.
Thank you for your interest in my auctions and stopping by to view them.

The D is actually more rare considering less were hoarded. It does look to be at least a D/D RPM Very cool quarter!

it is a real puzzling quarter... I have put it under 60X and still can not tell for sure.

as you can see, the "D" is where it is landing. I could only have wished for this to be in good enough condition to make a difference.

whatever grade you place on this quarter, the worth will be the same whether it is a "D" or an "S" up to a Fine grade (which this coin does not quite make that grade) after that, the "D" will bring a higher value and price.
the best thing about this coin being from the Denver Mint is that most who have a hole in their collection, the chances are real good that it is this coin that is missing.
