BTW, that picture of my computer has an AMD Phenom II X4 970 Processor. Its running at its normal speed 3.5 Ghz. right now I see no reason to overclock.
This is an AM3 socket cpu, BUT all AM3 cpu's are backwards compatible with AM2+ sockets. If you install this on an AM2+ socket though, you'll lose a little performance, not alot, but enough.
NVM lol, this is an AM2+ cpu :D, so it will work in all AM2, and AM2+ motherboards. If you use it on an AM2 motherboard you'll lose a lil of the cpu's power, but not much :P
i would be very please to win this as my desktops cpu just quit, it's the right socket and would be an upgrade from the dual core i had previously.. also it's a pain in the butt to find am2-am2+ cpus that are worth anything now days..
