The uniqueness of the button is the fact it contains pictures of the candidates and their spouses. Kerry's wife, widow of Republican Senator Heinz and heir to the Heinz fortune, and John Edwards wife who he will later divorce him when a long term affair is exposed. Featuring wives of Presidential candidates on buttons was rare prior to FDR and used primarily by the incubent rather than challenger.
