Description

The listing, ONION PLANT! just plant, water, and watch it grow! has ended.

The onion house plant is a very neat plant. It "sheds" babies as you can see them clinging to the mother onion. They fall to the soil and root right where they land. All of the plants in this pot are from the mother plant I had for nearly 20 years before she died and left behind all her babies you see here. You will receive the 3 babies you see in the center of the last picture. They tend go grow at a normal pace, not slow or fast and they get very long and hang over the pot. Very hard to kill. I water my plants about every week or 2. It is in a south facing window so they take sun well. My plant is growing in regular potting soil and does well.

Do not let your animals eat it. It can be toxic to humans too, but I touch this plant all the time and never had any problems. Here is some more information from homeguides website:

Growth Requirements
It is generally a low-maintenance plant, and is best grown indoors in a sunny window or outdoors in an area that receives some afternoon shade. Traditional potting soils should be avoided, as they tend to retain moisture. Preferred choices include using pure construction sand, or blends suitable for cacti or orchids. The plant does best if the soil is allowed to dry out completely between watering, and then watered thoroughly.

Considerations
A native of South Africa, the unusual pregnant onion plant is considered a succulent due to its ability to store water for long periods of time. Care should be taken to keep all parts of the pregnant onion away from children and animals due to possible allergic reactions, and the California Poison Control System classifies all parts of this plant as highly toxic.
