No problem, Really! Since I quit smoking, over 3 years ago..I ask every seller, if I don't see it in the description. Some answer, others do not?!!
I am by no means a "reformed smoker" and don't judge anyone. I know how hard it has been, the 12 times? So far, when I have tried so hard to quit. And I Also know how easy, if "wrong place, wrong time?!" It would be to smoke.
But, I Want to know & deserve to, everyone does, if the item has been around smoke. Don't worry about "missing it" I do all the time, when reading descriptions, or don't remember, if I have already asked a Seller! Thanks for watching!

I have done the same thing; many times, they ignore me. And when I find a Seller who has Several Items I really like, I've asked on more than one of them! I think a lot of people are not able to get back to you, quickly. And I don't like asking questions, late in the auction as they may not see it, so I ask on all their items I like. More than a few times, I have had a Seller answer on one or 2 of them that they are from a non-smoking home, which is great. And a few really nice Sellers will reply that they are sorry but there are smokers in the home.
Then, the Other Extreme, Ignored me or blocked, Lol I cannot figure people out. Maybe they take offense as they think I am asking if their items are "dirty" lol I have Never Implied that. When I smoked, I kept the items far away from any "smoke" but told them even tho it was washed many times, I smoke & cannot tell:)
