Which way do you recommend or do you do? Sorry for all the questions. We have been using jump rings and are trying to find something a bit nicer looking as well as still simple.

I usually use a simple bail attached to the charm with a jump ring. I prefer oval jumprings and a heavy gauge so they don't open up as easily as the round ones. I slip the cord or leather thru the bail before I put the second crimp on. Gives a nice finished look.

So you just squeeze the bottom two circles with pliers to crimp it?

Yes or you can glue in your leather or cord. you do it gently while turning to do each side. It does take a few tries before you figure the best way for you. I use these all the time.
