Description

The listing, Papaya Red Maradol Seeds has ended.

YOU ARE BIDDING FOR 8 PAPAYA MELON SEEDS Exp. May 2017.

Papaya trees grow best in USDA growing zones 9 -11. Even light freezes can completely kill a papaya tree so my guess is that most people below zone 7 or 8 probably don't have a chance at growing a papaya outside.

Papayas also prefer to be grown in humid climates, but I have found that they will grow outside in Tucson, Arizona. with as little as 20% humidity.

Red Maradol papayas come from Mexico and range from 2 to 8 pounds with edible seeds. The trees are easily grown in containers, but require lots of watering and fertilizer to produce the heavy fruits.

Papaya melon fruit health benefits:
The papaya fruit is very low in calories (just 39 calories/100 g) and contains no cholesterol; however, is a rich source of nutrients, minerals, and vitamins.

Papayas contain soft, easily digestible flesh with a good amount of soluble dietary fiber that helps to have normal bowel movements; thereby reducing constipation.

It is also an excellent source of Vitamin-A flavonoids. Vitamin A is required for maintaining healthy mucus membranes and skin and is essential for visual sight. These compounds are known to have antioxidant properties to protect against cancer and ulcers.

and Yuma ,Az I am growing 4 seedlings now and I am in Yuma,AZ which is actually hotter then Tucson and less humid it's a dry heat. I just move it in the shade near my sprinklers so it can get the mist during the day.
