I have one on my right arm that was a cover-up when I was 14. The lady w/me in the pic was my grandmother who took me to have a homejob covered up. I wanted a unicorn & she said, "You'll look stupid as an old lady running around with a unicorn on your arm." I got the butterfly & wasn't too happy but 2 yrs. later she took me to get my unicorn on my shoulder & she got a butterfly on her shoulder. She's gone now & i now love butterflies & think of her everytime I see one...I also think of her words everytime I see someone running around w/gauged ears...They'll look stupid running around with gauged ears when they're old! ~LOL!

That is such a great story you've shared! My butterfly between my shoulder blades is half green for my son's favorite color and the other half is blue for my daughter's favorite color. My butterfly symbols to me a spiritual world. Every time I see a butterfly I think of my deceased grandmother. After she passed and whenever things get bad, I will talk with her and believe it or not I usually will see a butterfly flying or just be somewhere and there one is weather it's real or fake. I know about the gauged ears and yes I think to some extent they look ridiculous now that I can only imagine what as an elderly it will look like on them..lol From my family and I to you and your family have a Happy Holiday :)
