Pampas grass blooms in late summer. Hardy in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 6 through 10, pampas grows in a clumping habit up to 10 feet tall and wide. Though this grass enhances your garden space, it can prove highly invasive, so you must be able to dedicate the time and effort to control its spread. It takes two to three years after sowing seeds until plants produce plumes. Plant in a small container of peat moss and light sand. Do not cover seeds. Use a spray bottle to water. Cover with a clear food storage bag but don't seal it. Put it in a sunny window. Water daily but don't drowned them. Takes about two weeks to germinate. Winner will get over 20 seeds. WAY over!
