The listing, RARE OBSOLETE FIRST EDITION $5 KINGS INN CASINO CHIP (CIRCA 1975) ~ RENO, NEVADA has ended.
Obsolete 1975 1st Edition $5.00 Casino/Poker chip from the Kings Inn Casino, which opened and operated in Reno, Nevada from 1975 to 1982. The 16th Edition of "The Chip Rack" values this chip between $30.00 and $39.00 (N8184). Having said that, anyone can purchase this chip on Ebay for much less than this amount. Unlike others, I am not stupid and will not bloviate nor will I fabricate the value of an item for personal gain.
Folks are extremely fixated on the credit ratio per $1, which to me is in commensurate. If I were to adhere to this widely used manner of calculating an item's worth, this chip would be listed with a GIN of 108,000 credits ($9 via Ebay x 12,100 credits), which is incredulous and also does not include the shipping cost nor the 10% credit fee that greedy Listia charges for an item that is GIN'd. This auction will not follow Listia's incredibly erratic, arbitrary and rather greedy credit to dollar ratio. Listia makes money from it's members by selling credits and from advertisers via their offers as well as the annoying ads on their app, which is getting worse, and the ads on their website. In large part Listia continues to increase the credit to dollar ratio in order to "encourage" (very loosely worded) folks to complete offers to earn credits, which I believe would be market inflatuation ; D That's my 3¢ for the day.
