Description
The listing, Shirley Temple Doll has ended.
This doll was a beloved toy of my grandmother's and as much as I love her I just don't have the means to give her the attention that she needs. She was a Christmas present to my grandmother when she was a little girl during the 30s. To be more specific, the Christmas of the Great Depression. She's a beautiful doll but needs some restoration and a nice place to be stored so that she can be seen. This doll has great potental for the shirley temple collector! :) P.S. I am very sorry to the winner, I lost the site so I was unable to visit it. I will be more diligent this time.
Questions & Comments
My Grandmother too had a doll like her she loved her very much but My Great Grandmother was unable to pay her bill and they came and took her doll away I think it was the saddest day for my grandmother they only took her doll because she took such good care of her. I have been looking for a doll like this for a while to restore in honor of my grandmother.
I bid on this doll last time and I won. You can see that if you look at the seller's feedback. I wrote the seller on Listia and facebook at the time, long before requesting a refund, but I never heard back from her.
Then last week the seller contacted me and asked if I'd still like the little doll. I said yes and that I'd pay shipping. I asked what the dollie's original owner's name was so I could put it in a little locket around her neck. I asked her if I could send her anything cute in return as a thank you.
Then on this listing (see above) the seller wrote in the update that she would send her only to me and apologized to the bidders. I don't know why that changed.
I hope the seller and the new winner still consider letting me have her. I've taught myself dollie repair and I'm good at it and I can make the doll better.
I shouldn't need to bribe, but I can. I have vintage dollies but really like the little girl I won and would trade with the winner for her. I'm a "trusted seller" and have perfect feedback here and in my Etsy shop, so you can be sure I''ll follow through.
Please be honorable/nice and let me have her. I would, if it were reversed.
Thanks, Rebecca beckynot.etsy.com <-- pet rescue shop, has dollie repair info
I know there was an issue with the seller ending this auction. I think the honorable thing would be for the seller to let this auction end, refund the bidder their credits and cancel the transaction. It is up to the seller to make this situation right, beckynot you do have a lot of listia experience, maybe you can walk her through this and help her out. Listia is not a perfect system but there are alternatives.

My grandmother also had one. She had gotten it from her mother, who bought it. Her mother was a single parent and it was amazing that she had a job during the depression. My grandmother passed away in 2002 and I would love to have the doll cleaned up and restored also. My grandma used to talk about her Shirley Temple doll.
Hi, I'm the winner of the original auction. I would still love to take care of your grandmother's doll. I sent you a message through Listia. Thank you!
Also, the lady, my Mamaw(deceased) was the original owner, her name was Betty Lou. :D So if anyone wanted to know, there it is. I know whoever wins her will love her very much.
you know what....at this point I am so frustrated with myself and how poorly this has all gone...yes...please feel free to bid...I will make sure that the winner gets her this time. I am a total fool....I really just want this doll to find a home that she can be fixed up and put on display. I will definately make sure that this type of confusion NEVER happens again....I am very sorry to poor Beckynot...she really did get the poor end of this deal....I feel like scum! I hope you all forgive me for being so negligent.
Again a appologize...I had no internet for some time and also did not have this site...I feel rather stupid for all the grief I've caused...so two ppl have bid on this doll now and I can no longer remove her :( I don't know what to do.
I am still learning all the things on here...don't get on all that much except to check my stuff out. I do plan to take her off if it's still possible and send her to Rebecca since she won her originaly.
So whats going on with this doll before I bid. DId she loose the site agian ? Find that hard to do considering most all of these comments are sent right to their email account.
Yes, please bid if you still want to. I really hate that this turned into a huge mess....but after this I will be much more diligent about my auctions.
IF beckynot is the winner of the 1st auction & this is the same doll, you can delete this auction right now yourself since there are no bids... & then send her the doll... :) Legend Kelly
