Ok for my trusted seller wings auction i have a 1974 Proof Set of British Virgin Island coins!! These are still in the box.. All paper work is with them. Never taken out and sealed in the plastic still. Everything is here for the coin collector in your life. I wanted to do a special auction so here it is. Any questions please ask. Wow! :) May i ask, I am a 8 mnth. new starter, coin collector and jewelry, as well. I have never seen or heard anything, about this type set, yet though. :(fanned you and watching and bidding towards end of auction. ) Could you tell me a bit more about the history of them? When & Where they were Purchased? About what you paid?; & If you know the Value? How old they are? Sorry for all the question's. Trying to Learn. What a set to keep & treasure! :) Best Of Luck! ok. Not sure of the worth, have tried looking them up but cant find a complete set. It is as follows. The coins were desinged by Gilroy Roberts. Who also sculpted the Portrait of John F. Kennedy for the US half dollar. The dollar is a portrait of the Magnificent Frigated Bird, The fifty cent piece has the Brown Pelican, The 25 cent has the Mangrove Cuckoos, The ten cent sports the Belted Kingfisher, the 5 cent has the Zenaida Dove, And the one cent has the Green-Throated Carib and the Antillean Hummingbird. This set was minted under the authorzation of the goverment of British Virgin Islands.

As for the age they are 1974. Thats the minting date of these. I bought them in a set of 3. I have a older set also. As for what i paid. Well they wernt free for sure. I bought these about 7 years ago. And have had them ever since. I am keeping the older set. Gave the newer set to my oldest son. And decided to post the inbetween one on here for another coin collector to enjoy. So great luck bidding on a small piece of history

Well the large one states its solid sterling silver on the paper work. The one cent piece is solid bronze. the others are cupro-nickel...
