Portugal: Óscar Carmona ( Lisbon , Portugal , 24 of November of 1869 - 18 of April of 1951 1 ) was a political and military Portuguese. Son and grandson of military, was the eleventh President of the Portuguese Republic under the dictatorship and subsequent Estado Novo. He took power after the fall of Gomes da Costa , president of the Council of Ministers 1 ( 9 of July of 1926 ), continuing the government of the call National Dictatorship; formally only he is appointed president of the Republic on 16 of November of 1926. He was reelected in 1928 , 1938, 1942 and 1949 , and remained in power until the date of his death. Oscar Carmona was also marshal of the army from 1947. (Wikipedia) Scott # PT-556.
