It's a really old days (Pirate Days) it was like a Flask that the mem tired to the pants or if on land or they could put water in as well. Doesn;t appear to be a hot water bottle due to the size and the cork. But yes it's a flask for Rum

My grandpa used to use something similar on cattle drives over 80 years ago. He was a genuine cowboy. Very cool item :)
