The listing, ***PS3!*** fat 40 gig w/ all hookups has ended.

auctioning off a ps3 40 gig with power cord and av cables, no controller, ok so heres the deal with this plastation, for the most part it works good exept it does not read discs, it needs the occular lens replaced, its only a $50 part. i got a new ps3 for my birthday and dont want to take the time to fix this one, this ps3 still plays downloaded games and movies and serves as a great media server, but to whoever wins this its an easy fix and pretty cheap too, cosidering the price of a new system.and did i mention free shipping! happy bidding!

once again folks if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it at all. but then again trolls will be trolls i guess. all that needs replacing is the optic lens a $50 part, and a controller not a rip off, a project for someone or just a good deal figure free ps3 on listia $50 repair vs. new ps3 $200+ you do the math. and once more if you dont like it simply dont bid.

actually it does not have yellow light of death. i would advise you to know what your talking about before you comment, i am a 100% verified seller and would state it if if did have yellow light (which is just a bad connection due to the fact that the lead content in the solder was drasticly reduced too meet new epa standards and can be fixed with res oldering it there are plenty of you-tube video's about it, if you knew what you were talking about you would have known that) do you think i'm stupid enough to screw my own account like that come on. and another reminder to just not comment if its negative like this. just because your in a bad mood or whatever dont troll other peoples auctions its just bad taste and shows the rest of the listia community how ignorant and childish you are. so once again folks rest assured this does not have the yellow light.

thank you, and you could probly take it to a local video game shop, i know i got 3 shops around me that do repairs your best bet is to call all the local video game stores and ask if they do repairs

good luck! remember it needs to be repaired but it wont cost much to fix and once the optic is replaced it will be just like new.

complete blueray rom is 67.00 this is easier to install then just the lens if you not experienced with ps3 repair that would be the way to go.

Blu ray drive is easy to replace. Just google "how to replace blu ray drive in ps3 40gb" . Ive done this and its just a few screws and a ribbon cables which are connected with a small slide clamp. There are youtube videos detaining the whole process. It is very common for the drives to go out after a year primarily because most people leave discs in when not playing and the system keeps running and recognizing and overworks the drive. Turn it off when you are done.

This is a good deal My husband replaced the something in ours it cost .$50 buck and took a 30 just go to you-tube and watch the video need to buy the special screw driver for like 2 bucks but this is still a great deal

thats right there are many you-tube video's about fixing ps3's i just dont have the time or patience to do something like that, but it would make a great project for someone with the time. or you could just bring it to a shop to get fixed your choice.
