ah, I see. I prefer the optical mouse over the one with the ball.

I don't know if they still make a mouse with the ball anymore. All I ever see is the optical ones - they don't have to be cleaned as often and work so much better!

I was a manager in a MIS department in a school district. We ordered the replacement parts for these by the boxload - students like to take them ans use them as super balls!!

Well, we started with the commodore 4040's back in the 80's because they were buy 1 get 3 free for schools. Not well thought out by business office because they were games not computers!

srry. one time, a whole wall of 8 computers shut down for no reason. schools need new computers. and I do understand that it will be costly.

I could tell you a lot of horror stories when our district began implementing computer labs in the schools. At least we laid good groundwork when I was there and 1/3 of the schools are supposed to get new computer lab replacements each year so that the oldest computers that students use are 3 yrs old!
