The listing, Antique canteen has ended.

Antique canteen. I am not sure how old it is.It. was with some of my grandmas stuff that has been packed away in the garage for 10+ years. It looks like it's made out of leather or suede. has plastic lid at the top looks like there is a cork under the lid.Fan and I will fan back. Happy bidding :)

What is it lined with, plastic, or something natural? That will let you know how old it is. These are made in Mexico, to drink wine at the Bull Fights. They are called Botas, which means bag. Sometimes called Bata bag ( which means bag bag). Cheers!

Hi and Thank you. There is no way for me to check the inside bag. There is a pic listed showing the top opening and it has a very small hole to drink out of and it looks like some type of cork is attached to it as well.

I have one just like this its bout 25 years old it was used for water but i use mine to put black power in for my 50 cal. gun !!

Hello, can you tell me what the writing says? I can't make it out. The writing going around the inside of the black part of the opening? Is it (the black opening part) a hard plastic, or is it softer (more like rubber)? Thanks!! :)
