The listing, 10K GENUINE MORGANITE AND DIAMOND RING has ended.
First, this ring no longer has a hallmark but I have included pics of the acid test. The reason it no longer has a hallmark is because it is a setting I salvaged and repaired the shank and set the Morganite and Diamonds, The stone is a peachy blush pink, hard to get that in the pictures. It is a size 7.
Morganite is in what is called the Beryl Family, some of the better known Gems of the Beryl Family are Emerald and Auqamarine, others are Helidor, Bixbite, Golden Beryl, Red Beryl and Goshenite.
Pink morganite was first identified in Madagascar, in 1910 and known as 'pink beryl'. Shortly thereafter, George D. Kunz, a famous American gemologist and buyer for Tiffany & Company renamed it in honor of John Pierpont (J.P.) Morgan, an American banker and avid gemstone collector. Since its discovery, morganite has been prized by gem collectors owing to its rarity.
