Description: A perennial sunflower, neither from jerusalem nor an artichoke,with tuberous roots native to the eastern united states. The parent of these seeds had small 1-4 inch long 1-2 inch wide rosy red tubers and 5-9 foot stalks with mutiple 2-3 inch yellow blossoms. An excellent pollinator plant with edible tubers and edible shoots in the spring. This plant can be slightly invasive and form large stands if allowed to spread.
