The listing, Clitoria Butterfly Pea Vine (One time offer) has ended.
Clitoria ternatea is one of the most amazing plants for hanging basket culture that I have grown. The plant blooms in only 6 weeks from seed. Even though its origins are unknown, it is probably native to Asia according to Hortus.Blooming Time: All year long; Flowers are solitary, bright deep blue with light yellow markings to 2 inches long by 1½ inches wide.
Culture: Clitoria ternatea like a rich, moist soil (2 parts peat moss to 1 part loam to 1 part sand or perlite). Keep the soil evenly moist at all times. It needs intermediate temperatures, but it stands up well to our hot Oklahoma summer temperatures. Butterfly pea needs full sun to partial shade, it likes to be shaded from the hot afternoon sun. The plants tend to get leggy very quickly, so pinching helps to keep it bushy.
Propagation: Clitoria ternatea is propagated from seed and by cuttings. To start seeds, soak in water 3-4 hours before sowing. Seeds germinate in 7-14 days. Cuttings root readily in moist sand or vermiculite.
Winner will get 10 seeds in this 1 time offer.
