A seven mile range is pretty good. If someone is farther away, just get a phone, if you are getting them for kids, they don't need that far of a range. lol. Jimmy is just kind of being a jerk. watching, thanks for listing!

I agree...If you really need that much distance, use cell phones or Portable CB walkie talkies...These are what they are...7 mile range in open space...

22 channels, belt clips,4 aaa batteries or NiMH battery pack, the manual has all kinds of info but does not give a distances because of clear location or other buildings. I bought them at LLBean six years ago but did not use. Lived on Mt in the woods.

To Jimmylau4...Even the ones that claim to get 10 or 25 miles will in reality only do about 2 miles in the woods...believe me...I know...I have owned many makes and models of these radios...These will get those 2 miles in the woods...Midland and Motorola make the best radios...Cobra and Uniden sux...

there seems to be a discussion on the distance. I do not know it. I did not see it in the manual. I bought them from LLBean I lived in the woods on a MT that did not even get cell calls so I do not know for sure. sorry
