3 Steel Pennies – One From Each Mint P, D, & S
One from each mint, Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco in a display case. These pennies are in fabulous, shinning condition. You have to see these coins with your own eyes to truly appreciate them.

Please see all pics. .
The War Effort
The 1943 Steel, silver colored penny is a wartime issue made of steel and coated with zinc. During World War II, copper was so badly needed for the war effort (to make shell casings) that the U.S. penny was made out of steel that year, which is why most 1943 pennies are silver colored.

I think they are reprocessed +- but I am not positive. I do have another Steel penny auction right now that is not re-processed at: https://www.listia.com/auction/32052346-1943-wwii-pennies-set-in-a-dispay-case
