The listing, POKEWEED SEED 10 seeds has ended.

pokeweed one of america's great greens hard to fix but oh so great tasting if you like greens
the auction is for 10 seeds more than enough to get you started you can learn how to prepare by talking to the older members of your family or the southern branch of the family , youtube also has many videos on how to prepare this delicious green , or you can do as l do and just let the darn thing grow and attract songbirds to your back yard , the finches really love the seeds
the plant grows about 8 feet tall and is covered with the berries as you can see from the pictures and each berry has 4-8 seeds gret plant for that spot in the gearden thats hard to find a plant for 8 feet tall and about 6 feet of spread and you will have birds every where lol

in answer to lisathomson9 l sent her a message that said as follows ; this came off of the site pet poison helpline you can google it

"All parts of this perennial contain saponins and oxalates which cause severe gastrointestinal irritation. Excessive salivation, vomiting, inappetance/refusal of food, diarrhea, possible tremors, and a drop in blood pressure may occur. The berries are generally not known for being very poisonous, and often may pass through the gastrointestinal tract intact (without being broken down).
i will also put this on my auction sounds like someone was trying to scare you

l might also add that l am 69 years old and have been eating poke most of my life , the cooked version is called poke sallet and l have had many dogs in those 69 years and not a one of these dogs has ever done anything other than maybe smell the plant lol most are smarter than we give them credit for

the berries are toxic but not to birds and when you harvest the greens early and prepare them right they are delicious l live in town and unfortunately the plant doesn't grow any where but outside of town in places the birds love it growing in my backyard or so it seems lol

Review this informative article for your questions, i suggest:

https://www.drugs.com/npp/pokeweed.html

Poke Sallet is comprised of the young leaves commercially.
I have also consumed Poke as it is grown throughout my state.
Pregnancy and Lactation females stay away from it.
As Merrill states, harvest the young leaves.
