Heavy picks range from 1.00 up basically to as thick as you can hold (3.0 mm is the thickest I have found but I am sure there are thicker ones)
but allow for a much more aggressive solid attack. They are not very flexible so can be less useful when strumming as they are likely to snag against the strings.
