I was wondering, if you could tell me if the main piece of the necklace is wood or medal? Also is their a chance that I would be able to put the main piece on a chain or is it impossible?

neither, it is yak bone, from tibet. It feels more like wood than metal. You could probably put it on a chain, but would need to get a fairly large bale to attach it to the chain since it is thick.
