The Ornamental Cherry Blossom Tree or 'Sakura' is the name given to species of Prunus Serrulata.

Cherry blossom trees are grown widely in Japan and many cities around the world now have Cherry Blossom Festivals.

The cherry blossom is the symbol of Japan, as well as the symbol of spring. The blooming is celebrated in Japan with cherry blossom festivals, which are an attraction for both locals and tourists from around the world.

For hundreds of years the Japanese have enjoyed themselves by picnicking under these blossoming trees in the spring.

Visits are made to mountains to view the wild cherries (usually wild forms of Prunus serrulata).

Japanese Weeping Cherry blossom Trees come in different forms and colors.

The flowers range from singles to doubles, white to pinks.

The Japanese Flowering Cherry Tree can grow to 50 to 75 feet high. 20-40 feet wide.

The Japanese Flowering Cherry Tree flowers in Mid-April to early May.
