Description

The listing, 2 RED CROSS lapel tabs World War II waving Medic Flag & elementary school American Junior Red Cross has ended.

I have been offering RED CROSS items from my collection of pins and tabs. In view of the interest shown, I am finding others and am continuing to offer them here.

Here I am offering TWO (2) RED CROSS lapel pins.

The WW II medic flag is almost mint as unfolded. As a bonus I am also offering an American Junior Red Cross tab given to students who gave to the Red Cross through school.

(1) Offered is a World War II era RED CROSS Flag shaped lithographed metal tab approximately 1" by 5/8".

This lapel pinback tab is a diecut image of a Red Cross medic flag waving on a flagpole, typically issued to raise funds for the World War humanitarian effort.

Above the flag is a white metal fold tab. The top circle on the tab is print stamped with two (2) union bugs or logos.

(2) Also offered in this auction is an original lithographed 5/8" lapel tab or badge for the AMERICAN JUNIOR RED CROSS with shield and red cross. There is wear to the paint as shown.

Listia is offering an opportunity to donate to 5 charities. I have been using some of the prior credits received from these Red Cross pins to donate credits for stars to the Red Cross.

Thank you for commenting and for your inquiry. I have been away from the computer so apologize for my delayed reply. It is my understanding that these tabs were manufactured for the American Red Cross, the medic flag during WWII and the American Junior Red Cross during the 1950s. I do not know who would have made them as only the union printer bugs are present on the top tabs.

They were presented to donors to the Red Cross. The American Junior Red Cross tabs were given to us in elementary school for coin donations during student member drives for the American Junior Red Cross. Sorry I do not have more detailed information, however, a web search should easily confirm this detail.

Hope my earlier reply was responsive. I neglected to reaffirm that the tabs are original and authentic. Although I acquired the American Junior Red Cross tab in the 1950s, the medic tab came to me by acquiring collections that were certainly from the 1940s as they included Franklin Roosevelt items as well.
