Description

The listing, Do you like novelties and oddities? A Pregnant Onion baby! has ended.

This is a FUN plant to grow.
Once you win this baby, Enjoy!!
THE First PICTURE is NOT of the baby, But of the MOTHER.
She is NOT part of this auction!
The 2nd one(picture) is one of a pregnant onion baby similar to what you will receive.
Do you like novelties and oddities? This is ONE!
This is for ONE baby Pregnant onion.
It is about the size of 1/4" across, about the size of a pea or so.
Bid and win with over 2000 credits and I will send you a larger one than 1/3".
These are not onions you should eat.
Plant now and and when it grows bigger, it will have babies.
It is Nicknamed-Pregnant Onion-for obvious reasons-called Ornithogalum longibracteatum or sometimes Ornithogalum caudatum.
It grows from a bulb you plant with soil covering the roots, so that bulb is somewhat above the soil level.
The adult looks like a big round onion and strange is that it will grow the offsets (babies) under its outer
skin-you can see it through the skin, and it will grow several at a time-
Plant the baby and have it sprout and after a while you will have a larger bulb growing.
Pregnant Onions have very long spear shaped leaves, that flow out over a pot, making a lush potted plant for a room, patio or a porch.
They can get flowers and produce seeds.
They also grow great around a pond as they will grow in most soils-they are very hardy.
This is fun for children to grow their own plant-they are fascinated by all the babies growing inside the skin of the mother plant.
You receive one baby bulb and they usually grow fast and should finally take up your whole pot.
Ours took 6 months to one year to get large.

OMG! I LOVE these! I had bunches and gave most away when I moved. Unfortunately they did not like my new house and every one of the ones I kept died! No matter what I did for them I just couldn't get them to grow. a couple of them I had for YEARS and never had any trouble, they just DID NOT like the air in the new house or something, lol.
Am DEFINITELY watching this one!! Fanned you also!
