You are correct that is what I was referring to the magnesium shaving I used where the source of the heat for the melting process.

The silver and gold you see. Some is from melted down silverware and some are silver and gold nuggets from the aleghany mountains and Appalachian mountains. The amount of gold is roughly around an ounce while the silver is around 6 ounces.

Well let's see this was from some silver wear and silver quarters that I melted down in a campfire this last month up in the allegheny mountains near the town of Salamanca Pennsylvania. And some of its from the other parts mined from the Appalachian mountains.
