This is a bad copy of the continental dollar coin. Since only 1200 were made in pewter and this one shows every sign of being fake i would say it is most likely not worth anything past souvenir value.
it is hard to tell you everything that is wrong about the coin it's just everything.
look at this one

for instance the color, quality of strike vs condition, metal haze, extreme rarity of real coins vs fakes.
If the coin was real it would be worth upwards of thirty thousand dollars. But it isn't.

Thanks for the research. I know I have had this since I was a kid. May have gotten it sometime in 1976 as some kind of bicentennial event as a souvenir...at least that is my best guess as to where I got it.
