The listing, Antique Noritake Handpainted Bowl has ended.
This is an awesome find!! Made in the 1920s-30s, this bowl was made in Japan by Noritake. Excellent condition! The gold lining may be slightly worn, otherwise you won't find a flaw in it The bowl measures about 2 1/2" high & 10" from handle to handle. Happy Holidays!
Questions & Comments
Very pretty. Love the old five petal roses. Glad you and others list quality items. Makes Listia more valuable to all of us. F & W !
Well, you do have the credits now to do so!! Don't know where this will go in last 30 seconds of auction!! LOL!! That is always when I try to make my move, but, this 1 is a bit different. I like this bowl!!
Just to say, thank you for listing such a nice auction, even if I do not get it. It has been fun to watch the bids. You have nice things, I have fanned you. I think Listia only allows us 500 to fan, so, I unfan and fan as I go. I am just cleaning out things on my auction, which I will start working on after the holidays, since I lost my little girl, I am cleaning out her CD's and things. Oh, it took me 10 yrs., but, I have begun. Most CD's from country singers were given to her in person in Children's hospital in Nashville. Thank you for listing nice things and the conversation. Great Listian!! You Rock!! :)
To be fair on the fanning part, Listia only allows so many we can fan. Even when the "be a fan" is clicked, it will tell us, we are a fan, which in fact is not always true, since we reach our limit. We don't know that, in face, I have had to unfan people to become a fan of other's. Just wanted to put that out there, cuz we do think we are fanning, which in fact, Listia is not letting us. I have had that happen to me, found out the hard way. Beautiful bowl!! Nice auction!!
this is a great bowl, wouldn't it be a better approach for something so valueable to be sold at an auction for cash? it is lovely, great auction and seasons greetings have a wonderful holiday and new year. I am now a fan
If you wanna buy it for cash, be my guest. lol. But I've had it in my online shoppe for over a year, and all it's doing is collecting dust. I love it, but I simply have no use or place for it.
Until 1921 Noritake predominately marked export wares "Nippon," one word used to describe the country of Japan. In 1921 American import law changed to require the place of origin be marked on a product in English. Since Nippon was an adaptation of a description of the island country in the native language, Nippon was no longer acceptable under the new law. Backstamps after 1921 state "Japan" or "Made in Japan."
