Robert Ito (born July 2, 1931, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) is a Canadian voice, television, and movie actor of Japanese descent.
A Canadian actor of Japanese descent, Ito was, for many years, a dancer with the National Ballet of Canada before turning to acting in the mid-1960s. With a long list of performing credits to his name, he is probably best known for his seven-year role on the popular TV series Quincy, M.E. which aired from 1976-83 on NBC. Ito played forensic lab technician Sam Fujiyama, opposite Jack Klugman's title character.
Ito played Professor Hikita in the cult film The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. He also appeared in the 1976 classic World War II film, Midway, as Minoru Genda, the leader of the attack on Midway Island in June 1942.
Robert Ito guest starred on the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Coming of Age as TAC officer Lt. Chang and on Star Trek: Voyager as John Kim (Harry Kim's father). Ito also starred in The X-Files episodes "Nisei" and "731". He appeared as a guest star portraying the character of a bandit named Captain Lee in "The Way of Violence Has No Mind" which was an episode in the television series Kung Fu. In 1974, he also appeared as a guest star in a two-part episode of Kojak, "The Chinatown Murders".
