The listing, *Red w/White Sailor/Pin Up Dress* Size XL -NWOT- Must See!!! has ended.

Here's a gorgeous RED Sailor Style Pin-Up type of dress labeled as a size XL, but I would say it probably fits more like a women's size 10 (I took a risk and got it from Japan and the chest is too small for me) so to be sure it will fit before you bid I am going to list measurements. I want to note that this dress is brand new, only been tried on, but has no tags.

Here are the measurements:

Bust (it has extra "cup" room): 19" Laid Flat
Waist: 16" Laid Flat
Hips are fairly free sized.
Length: about 37" from top of bust area

It's gorgeous -- sorry it's wrinkled in the photo, but once I tried it on and it didn't fit I stuffed it back in the box and just about cried!!

Sorry I can't lower the days, I like to give everyone a fair chance at saving credits for my items, especially something like this that will probably get a fair amount of credits so people will want to save to have a fair chance. This is an item that doesn't get put up on Listia too often.

I also have my auctions end so they can coincide with the fact that I offer very fast, free shipping and delivery confirmation. I would have put a "GIN" on it, but had NO CLUE what this would be fair at and wanted people to have a chance to save up credits because I am hoping it goes for a fair amount. I love this! I'm thinking it might be to big, You think there's a chance it can be taken down a size.. Idunno I know that clothing from Japan runs a little smaller... Well either way I'm watching this one!

I could take it in down both side seams -- that's what I would recommend, but the fabric has no stretch or give to it at all and even though the measurements seem kind of generous (and I specifically shop for clothing based on measurements only) there's something about this dress that with the same measurements of any other dress it seems it would fit fine (except maybe too small in the chest) but this one runs smaller than the measurements would make it seem.

I personally wouldn't size it as an XL by US standards, which would seem to be about a size 14 -- go by the measurements as much as you can, because I don't want to throw a size out there that's way off, but this seems more like a size 10? possibly? To me a size 10 is in the realm of Large and sometimes a Medium/Large.

I think I'm talking circles and not making sense and probably being even more confusing. Just keep in mind that the measurements are very strict -- through the bust and torso down to the seam at the waist this dress seems smaller than it should be in correlation with the hip size when I compare it to other similar dresses I have that fit just fine.

But, yes, it can easily be taken in, the fabric would be very easy to work with even if you are taking it in by hand.

Japan (and most of Asia) sizes are 2 sizes different from the US - Japanese M is a US XS. So, this should fit like a US M. Best of luck!

I am in just about the same boat as you are with dress size and bust size -- I would say the chest would work for a woman with a 36C/D but not a full D cup. I should be wearing a 36DD if it weren't for not being able to find a bra in that size that's still cute!

Sorry, hun, at least we know the garbage we have to go through to find a dress or clothing in general that fits correctly and is still flattering!!!
