Gordie Howe (1928 – 2016) was one of the greatest & most durable players in the history of hockey. He powered his Detroit Red Wings teams to four Stanley Cup championships. I actually had the great privilege of spending some time with him on a couple of occasions back in the late 90’s. He was remarkable!

This is the story of the 1973 NHL season when the aging legend returned to the ice at the age of 44. He was written off by many, who thought that he was too old to be playing competitively. Through hard work, perseverance & the loving support of his wife & family, he & his sons managed to prove the critics wrong by winning several championships for their team.
