The 1856 is the rarest date having only had 800-1500 produced. This pretty little coin featured a relief that was too high, creating issues with die opposition in fully struck coins. As a result, key elements of the design are often flawed or easily worn...for example...the eagles head, tail, or wing tip may be weakly struck, and the wreath detail on the reverse may not be as defined as with others. These unique flaws are part of this cent coins history. This coin was circulated during the civil war. You will receive the coin pictured.
