I have these and they run off bluetooth technology but only directly to the box that charges them, without that box you cannot use them. They are only compatible with whatever will plug into the back of the box. So no phones, no IPods will work on it...however having said that, I think they are awesome...if I have to leave the room for a sec and dont want to pause what I am watching I can wear them all over my house and still get a clear signal from the tv. If you want to listen to music, you need to tune your tv on a music station~most cable providers offer channels that are just music. But they are Strictly for the TV or if you plug them base into your newer game systems you can route the sound through the box to the speakers. They do not change over to a radio or anything like that. They hold a charge for a long time, I can use mine for about 4 hours each day for about 3 or 4 days before having to put back on the charger. I would not give up the ones I have for anything....and yes they are around $100 with tax if you shop at Best Buy or somewhere like that

Incorrect...They work Perfect for my IPOD...
.They DO WORK for an IPOD (Music),..plug in IPOD to the base and go anywhere in the house, or go outside in the winter and shovel my Driveway... No Problem with losing any sound or volume...volume control on head set
