The listing, 320GB (2x164GB) External Hard Drive has ended.

This auction is for an Dual Bay External Hard Drive Enclosure with 2x164GB Hitachi Deskstar SATA 3GB/s Hard Drives installed in it. Enclosure is in excellent shape with very little use. This auction is for the drive with power supply, 1x USB2 cable, and 1x FireWire 400 cable.

Enclosure Features:

1x40mm low profile cooling fan
Blue Power LED (On Power Button)
Blue Activity LED (Under front panel mesh)
1 x FireWire 400
1 x FireWire 400 mini
1 x FireWire 800 mini
1 x USB2
RAID 0/1 (via switch on rear of drive)
***NOTE: Enclosure will ship with drive in non-RAID configuration and hard drives are formatted in NTFS for Windows. If you are a Mac user, you will need to reformat the drive before it will be fully usable.***
Compatible with 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows XP/Vista/7 and Max OS X 10.x and above.
Enclosure value used is around $50.00

While I prefer free shipping on my auctions, the shipping for this item is firm at $12.95, as the enclosure with drives is quite heavy, and will be expensive to package and ship. The package will be shipped via UPS Ground w/tracking confirmation included. ***PLEASE NOTE: You will need to provide a physical address for this auction if you win. UPS will not deliver to P.O. Box addresses.***

The hard drives themselves will be removed from the enclosure before it is shipped. This will allow me to package them carefully and help ensure that they are not damaged in transit with UPS. The drive did not come with any instructions, so I will be more than happy to help the winner if they are not sure how to reassemble the drive when they receive it. Happy Bidding!

Do you know the max hard drive size (GB) this enclosure will allow?

The enclosure PCB is fairly standard, so should be able to accommodate up to 2TB drives, but the largest drives I have ever tested in it were 2x750GB in RAID 1 configuration.

I prefer free shipping on my Auctions, but this sucker is just too heavy to ship for free. The quoted cost from UPS to ship this more than 2 states away from me is a little over $20. Adding in the cost for packaging it up safely and I'm only asking for the winner to pay around half the shipping cost.

is this for a mac or does it work for a reg pc? ive been wanting to get an external hard drice setup but havent been able to afford one, this might be my chance to get one

So basicely this is just like a regular external hard drive that I would buy at walmart or best buy, just plug it in and put my files on it?

Once it is assembled and setup, yes, you will just be able to transfer files to it. Please read the description for details on why the winner will be re-assembling the drive when they receive it,
