This is a vintage 925 sterling silver pin (marked on the underside of the tail) in the shape of a newt or salamander with genuine marcasite along its body and tiny red crystal eyes. (The eyes on my pin are Swarovski. When I found this in an estate sale one of the eyes was missing so I had my jeweler replace both.) I found a couple pins similar to this on other sites but most had only one or two rows of marcasite. This pin has three rows of marcasite and none are missing. The pin and clasp are in working condition and are also sterling silver.

The pin is very detailed showing the wrinkles and scales of the animal's skin. It is 2.5 inches long and in great condition. It has not been cleaned. The patina of age is gone once it's cleaned. When you win the auction, if you prefer that I clean it, let me know and I'll do that before I mail it.

The pin measures approx. 2 1/2" x 1/2" and weighs approx. 4 grams.

This is a very unique pin and you'll get a lot of compliments when your friends see you wearing it!!

This is my first auction with a GIN!! (Awe I'm feeling all grown up now! lol) Check it out, I think it's pretty reasonable.
