A well-researched, scholarly account but it unfortunately truncates Hemingway's journalism career by a few years -- I think in order to maintain the conceit that his "apprenticeship to journalism" was over once he began publishing serious fiction. He continued to write journalism, both for the Star and other publications like Esquire, well into the 1930s.
